ABOUT LAUREN
Lauren Trichter is a Canine Behavioral Consultant and Dog Trainer. Lauren has been called a Dog Whisperer by many of her clients. She teaches companion dog training and their owner’s about canine behavior modification and obedience training. With over twenty years of professional experience, Lauren has had great success and reviews from her clients. Her business generally comes from veterinary referrals and word of mouth from her clients.
Lauren works with all breeds at any age. She started her career specializing in puppy training. Training starting as young as seven weeks old. Ideally, training puppies at an early age results in good behavior and prevents dog owners from making common mistakes. Puppy training focuses on potty training, mouthing, jumping up, crate training, feeding schedule, grooming, and so much more. Lauren continued to evolve and broaden her skills. She has taught and shown for AKC obedience, Puppy Star, and the CGC, as well as service dogs for many handiCAPABLE clients. She started with wheelchair training assistance, then she had a client with Lou Gehrig's disease. She took the clients dog home and taught her dog to assist her with everything from doors to lights, even to get the phone. Now, Lauren’s experiences has grown from wheelchair to D.A.D. (diabetic alert dog ) and everything in between. However, Lauren’s unique approach to teaching dogs good manners is and has always been similar to child psychology using positive reinforcement techniques. In addition, her innate rapport helps her intuitively to understand their behavior and mannerisms. This special skill enables Lauren to better communicate to dog owners why their dogs behave the way they do.
She prefers to work with the owners and their dogs in the home environment. This is where most problems occur and where the dog spends most of its time. By carefully listening and observing, the dog training is tailored in every lesson to meet the needs and habits of each dog and their family.
Often, the dog’s body language reveals an appropriate strategy for changing unwanted behaviors. Lauren’s huge love of dogs is apparent and she obtains great satisfaction from helping owners to bring about their companion dogs best behavior and their fullest loving potential.
